How to Find the Channel Fast
Here’s the thing: you don’t need to hunt for hours. Grab your remote and follow these steps.
- Power up your DIRECTV receiver and give the guide a few seconds to load.
- Hit MENU → Guide, then scroll to tonight’s date.
- Type “Astros” in the guide search bar—or just punch in “674” if you’re feeling speedy.
- Make sure the channel number reads 674 and the program title says “Houston Astros at [Opponent].”
- Still seeing the wrong game? Hit EXIT → RESET once to clear the glitch.
Still Not Working? Try This
Sometimes the stars (and channels) align against you. If channel 674 is a no-show, don’t panic.
- Bounce over to FS1 on channel 219. The Astros pop up there often when FOX has the national broadcast window locked down. Two clicks on CH↑/CH↓ and you’re there.
- MLB Network on channel 213 is another lifesaver. It carries alternate feeds on 213-1—just highlight that in the guide and hit SELECT.
