How Do You Trade Items In Wizard101?

Need to move gear between your characters? Here’s the fastest way:

Quick Fix: Open your dorm’s Shared Bank, move the item from your source character’s backpack into Shared Bank, switch to your receiving character, then pull it into their backpack. If the item won’t transfer normally, unstitch it first at Eloise Merryweather.

What’s Actually Going On: How Trading Works in Wizard101 (2026)

As of 2026, trading in Wizard101 comes in two flavors: Shared Bank for moving items between your own characters, and gifting for sending items to friends. Shared Bank handles gear, mounts, and housing items—but it won’t work for cross-account trades. Gifting has strict age limits; only players over 18 (or with parental permissions) can send gifts. Non-tradable items? They can’t move normally, but you can unstitch them to recover the original parts.

Heads up: Shared Bank can only hold one house at a time, and houses can only transfer once every 90 days. Mounts and gear move through Shared Bank, not direct trades between accounts.

Here’s Exactly How to Trade Gear in 2026

  1. Open Shared Bank

Head to your dorm, access your bank, then click the Shared Bank tab. This is where your characters’ shared loot lives.

  2. Send the Item to Shared Bank

On your source character, open your backpack, pick the item, and choose Move to Shared Bank. The item appears in Shared Bank instantly.

  3. Switch to Your Receiving Character

Log out, then log back in as the character getting the item. Open Shared Bank—it’s right there under the same tab.

  4. Grab the Item

Select the item in Shared Bank and click Move to Backpack. Now it’s in your second character’s inventory.

  5. Gifting to Friends (When Needed)

Want to send something to a friend? Buy it in the Crown Shop, click Gift (only Crown-purchased items work), then pick the recipient from your Friends list.

Quick note: Gifting requires you to be over 18 or have parental controls set up.

Still Stuck? Try These 3 Backup Plans

  • Unstitch Non-Tradable Gear

See “No Trade” on an item? Visit Eloise Merryweather in your dorm. Use Unstitch to break it into parts, move those parts through Shared Bank, then re-stitch them on the receiving character.

  • Use a Level 50 Elixir (For Fast Gear Transfer)

Moving a full gear set? A Level 50 Elixir (30,000 Crowns each) unlocks main quests up to Dragonspyre. Your new character can just re-collect the gear.

  • Get Help from Support

If an item’s stuck due to a glitch, file a ticket at support.wizards.com. Attach character names, item names, and screenshots to speed things up.

Pro Tips: Keep Your Trades Smooth in 2026

  • Stick to Shared Bank for Your Own Characters

Shared Bank is fast and reliable for moving gear between your characters. Don’t bother trying to trade across accounts—it won’t work.

  • Double-Check Gifting Rules

Before sending a gift, confirm the recipient is over 18 or has parental controls enabled. Gifting is locked for younger players by default.

  • Watch for Non-Tradable Items

Items marked “No Trade” can’t move normally. Unstitch them first if you need to transfer the parts.

  • Schedule Housing Moves Carefully

Shared Bank only holds one house at a time, and houses can only transfer every 90 days. Plan these moves in advance to avoid locking yourself out.

Pro move: Keep a personal checklist of items you move—Shared Bank doesn’t keep a history for you.
