Quick Fix:
Slap on the Source Amulet, then hit Replenish Source on any corpse or soak up 5 Source from glowing orbs, fountains, or puddles—but only while your own Source meter is already full.
What’s the deal with the Source Amulet anyway?
Here’s the thing: the Source Amulet in Divinity 2: Ego Draconis (2026) won’t top itself off automatically. You have to shove Source into it yourself, either through your own spells or by grabbing loose Source from the world while the amulet’s on your belt. Think of it like a phone battery—no plug-in, no charge.
How do I actually fill the dang thing?
Follow these steps and you’ll have that blue bar climbing in no time.
- Pop the amulet on. Hit I to open your inventory, scroll to the Source Amulet, and mash E to equip it.
- Make sure your own Source is maxed. Glance up at the blue Source bar in the top-right corner. If it’s looking sad and half-empty, grab some Source first.
- Cast Replenish Source.
- Open your spellbook with B.
- Click over to Abilities → Source Skills.
- Pick Replenish Source—don’t worry about the rank, it works the same.
- Point at any corpse on the ground and smack Space to fire it off.
- Slurp up free Source from the world.
- Stumble over Source Orbs—those little blue glowing balls—and watch your meter tick up automatically.
- Stand inside a Source Fountain or a Puddle to get a slow but steady trickle of Source.
- Use Source Vampirism (that’s the Purge ability) on enemies to drain their Source while you smack them around.
- Confirm the amulet is actually filling. Mouse over the amulet in your inventory—you should see a little blue bar climbing in the tooltip. Give it a few seconds; once your own Source bar steadies out, the amulet will start refilling.
What if nothing happens?
Don’t panic—this stuff glitches out sometimes, especially after a big fight.
- Reload and try again. Jump back to your last autosave, re-equip the amulet, and give it another shot.
- Switch characters. The amulet only fills for whoever’s currently in the spotlight. Hit Tab to cycle through your party, then repeat the steps.
- Don’t forget the Scroll of Atonement. If this is tied to the Path of Blood trial, make sure you’ve grabbed the scroll (it’s usually right next to the amulet). Pop both on, then interact with the trial altar.
How do I stop this from becoming a headache later?
Honestly, a little prep now saves a ton of frustration down the road.
- Stock up on Source Orbs. Farm them in Fort Joy’s sewers or pick up a stack from any merchant in Cyseal. Keep at least ten in your quick-access slots.
- Plant yourself near a reliable Source Fountain. The one in Luculla’s Garden (Act 1) is perfect for topping off between fights without breaking a sweat.
- Grab the Purging Wand ASAP. You can loot Radeka the Witch’s Purging Wand during The Purged Dragon quest. It’s the best Source-leech tool you’ll find until you hit the late game.
- Don’t overfill your meter. If your Source hits 100%, wait about ten seconds before adding more—the amulet only drinks in Source when your bar is full but not flashing red.
