If Pocket Camp won’t link to your Nintendo Account in 2026, the fastest fix is to wipe the game’s local data and re-link during a fresh first-time setup.
What’s happening
When those tokens break, the game can’t recognize your account anymore. Reinstalling forces the app to grab a brand-new token and re-establish the connection from scratch.
Here’s how to fix it step by step
- On your phone or tablet, open Settings → Apps (Android) or Settings → General → iPhone Storage (iOS).
- Find Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, tap it, then choose Uninstall (Android) or Delete App (iOS).
- Reinstall from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open Pocket Camp; it’ll walk you through “First Play.” When asked, sign in with the same Nintendo Account you want to link.
- Tap Link Nintendo Account when prompted; the game should now show a green “Linked” badge in the menu.
Still no luck? Try these backup methods
- Browser fallback: Open accounts.nintendo.com, sign in, go to Account → Linked accounts, and confirm Pocket Camp is listed. If it’s missing, click Link another account and follow the prompts.
- Switch console cross-play: If you’ve got New Horizons on Switch, fire it up and activate NookLink on the title screen → Settings → NookLink → Yes, please. Then use the Download Code flow to pull in Pocket Camp rewards. This trick often re-links your account automatically.
- Family transfer: Create a new user on Switch → System Settings → Users → Add User. Link that user to the same Nintendo Account and launch Pocket Camp once; it’ll inherit the link token.
Keep this from happening again
Always use the same Nintendo Account email when Pocket Camp asks. (The game doesn’t allow swapping accounts mid-game.) Enable two-factor authentication at accounts.nintendo.com to lock down your link. Skip manually clearing the app’s cache—let Pocket Camp handle its tokens. If you ever factory-reset your phone, back up your Nintendo Account credentials first so reinstalling Pocket Camp goes without a hitch.
