How Do I Get Installment On Shopee?

by
Last updated on 3 min read
To get installments on Shopee, tap the "Installment" banner during checkout and select either the 3- or 6-month plan from Maybank EzyPay or SPayLater.

What’s going on here?

Shopee only shows installment options when the item is tagged as eligible, your card supports installments, and your account meets the requirements for SPayLater or one of its partner banks. As of 2026, the main installment partners are Maybank EzyPay, BillEase (Philippines), and Shopee’s own SPayLater (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam).

How do I actually get installments to show up?

  1. Open the Shopee app (Android 6+, iOS 14+).
  2. Find your item and open its product page.
  3. Look below the “Buy Now” button for a blue or orange “Installment” tag (or the words “3 or 6 months”).
  4. Tap that tag → choose “See Plans”.
  5. Pick how long you want to pay (3 or 6 months).
  6. Select your installment partner (for example, Maybank EzyPay or SPayLater).
  7. Enter the OTP sent to your phone and finish checking out.

If the tag isn’t there at all, head to Shopee → Me → Shopee Wallet → SPayLater to check whether you’re eligible and pre-approve your limit before you start shopping.

I followed the steps and nothing happened—what now?

  • Is your card being rejected? Installments only work with credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) from a participating bank. Debit cards won’t work because they pull money straight from your account and can’t set up fixed repayments. If you only have a debit card, try a partner wallet like GCash PayLater or GrabPay Later where those services are offered.
  • Still no SPayLater? Go to Shopee → Me → Shopee Wallet → SPayLater, tap “Apply Now,” and finish the identity verification. Once you’re approved, the installment tag should appear on eligible items within 24 hours.
  • Problem with a specific bank? For Maybank EzyPay, open the Maybank2u app → Cards → EzyPay → Activate on the transaction you just made. In the Philippines with BDO, make sure you’ve enrolled the card in BDO Online Banking → E-Commerce → Installment Enrollment.

How can I stop this from happening again?

  • Check your eligibility up front: Before you even add an item to your cart, open Shopee → Me → Shopee Wallet → SPayLater (or your bank’s installment portal) to see your limit and payment options.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication: Enable Shopee Pay/Shopee Wallet 2FA in Me → Settings → Security so the OTPs always arrive on time.
  • Keep an eye on your credit: Installment plans act like a mini credit line; mark the due dates so you don’t get hit with late fees. Most Shopee partners report to credit bureaus—missed payments can hurt your credit score, as Credit Karma points out.
